An amazing climb to a beautiful spot. The Burway was used for the 1989 hill climb national championships, won by none other than Chris Boardman, his third of four consecutive British hill climb titles. Boardman's star was in the ascendance this year with track and road titles galore. Less than three years later he was Olympic champion and two years after that would be in the yellow jersey at the Tour de France.

Stop and let your brakes cool on the decent - too much speed could spell your doom. There isn't a lot of room for a bike and a car at speed. Just saying...
