Spiterstulen lies at 1,100 m above sea level. NHN at the tree line in the lovely and lush Visdalen. Surrounded by a rich fjord flora, babbling brooks, overgrown old hunting pits and legendary mountain farms, this valley is an ideal environment for short hikes for young and old. The meadows around Spiterstulen invite children to play.

Spiterstulen was originally a pasture of the Sulheim family, which has its farm in Bøvredalen. This alp was first extended in 1836 to accommodate guests who initially came from abroad. Six generations have shaped, expanded and modernized this place. However, the original nature of this pasture has been tried to preserve - several small and large huts form a unit.

Spitelstulen offers its guests a variety of rooms from comfortable rooms or family units with en-suite bathrooms to simple bunk beds and shared bathrooms. In total, Spitelstulen has about 200 beds. In addition, Spitelstulen operates a campsite with sanitary facilities directly in the area.

Spiterstulen is open from 1 March to 1 May and from about 20 May to 15 October.
