On one side, the Main Bridge leads directly to the train station 🚉 (if you want to continue by train). On the other side you roll into the old town, which has a lot to offer for a stroll through the city.

      Main Bridge (1947/50) Miltenberg 🚴‍♂️

The Main Bridge in Miltenberg is a road bridge that crosses the Main River in the Lower Franconian district town. It connects both parts of the city via Brückenstraße in the north, with Mainstraße leading into the old town. The important, first Main crossing was a ferry connection in the Middle Ages. In 1900, a 7-meter-wide arched bridge with six openings and a striking gatehouse was built on the left bank of the Main. The bridge was blown up by German troops on March 28, 1945, to protect it from the advancing enemy. Only the pillars and the gatehouse survived. To reconnect the two banks of the Main in Miltenberg, a ferry was reinstated in 1945, and planning for rebuilding the bridge began soon after. The new bridge was finally built in 1950.

The road bridge has a single lane in each direction and features a separate pedestrian and marked bicycle path on both sides.
