In the course of renaturation is like all weirs, also the Hausener weir a barrier in the Nidda. Fish can not overcome the weir height of nearly 2 meters. Plans to rebuild or demolish the weir are in the planning stage. It will be replaced by a fixed ramp, a so-called latch ramp.
