YOUR adventure can begin here. There is a small hut on the edge of a large parking lot and signals the starting point of the Harzer-Hexen-Stieg in the west-east direction. The legend and myth trail winds through the Harz Mountains over a length of almost 100 kilometers. If you still have enough time, a visit to Osterode's old town with its half-timbered houses is definitely recommended.

Here is the official start and finish point of the Harzer-Hexen-Stieg.
I personally like the Hexentor in Thale much better as a finish and start point. The start point in Osterode is hardly noticeable and is in the middle of a parking lot: a start couldn't be more unpretentious...🤷‍♂️
I also recommend arriving and departing from the Hexenstieg by train: both Osterode and Thale are easily accessible by train.
