Deep in the wild and romantic Wispertal, one of the most beautiful and deserted corners of the Taunus, you will find the ruins of the small Lauksburg. Not much is known about its history, which makes it all the more mysterious. Probably built in the 12th century, the spur castle was said to have fallen into disrepair as early as the 16th century. Nobody has ever tried to rebuild it and so it still stands on the beautiful Wisperstrasse today. Diagonally opposite is the Laukenmühle, a cozy restaurant where fresh trout from the Wisper are served.
