    Jacobiweiher Bridge (1931/32) - Frankfurt/City Forest 🚴‍♂️

The Jacobiweiher Bridge is located along the green belt circuit on the Jacobiteich lakeside path, which crosses the water approximately halfway across the lake on a wooden footbridge. 🚴‍♂️

The pond in Frankfurt's City Forest was created between 1931 and 1932 at the suggestion of Forestry Director Jacobi as a rainwater retention basin by damming the Königbach stream. Today, with a surface area of six hectares, it is the largest body of still water in the city. Around the Jacobiteich, you can marvel at Hesse's tallest beech trees, which are about 40 meters tall. In Frankfurt, the Jacobiweiher is also known as "Lake Lucerne" because of its peculiar shape with its numerous branches and islands, which vaguely resembles that of the Swiss lake, as well as because of the four adjacent districts – Sachsenhausen, Niederrad, Oberrad, and Neu-Isenburg.

The paths are ridable with a racing bike, although not the 1st choice. The number of pedestrians depends on the day of the week/season/time.

This bridge cannot be reached by racing bike. Around the Jacobiweiher there are only beautiful gravel paths with many walkers.
