The bronze statue "Dialogue" by the artist Jürgen Ebert from Bocholt, which is set up on the Rhine promenade, is particularly popular with tourists and residents as a photo opportunity. The writer H. D. von der Strauchburg tells how the two girls, Laura and Yasmin, who had become bronze, came to the Rees Rhine promenade in his fairy tale from 2004, "The Bronze Girls".

The sculpture comes from Jürgen Ebert from Bocholt and shows two girls who "chat" with each other. In today's world of mobile phones and the Internet, you should take the time to do more together a lot more often.

Laura and Yasmin are the bronze girls who sit in Rees on the Lower Rhine on the Rhine promenade or lean against the railing and talk animatedly but in silence. The two friends were cursed over 60 years ago and are still waiting for their redemption today. The former high school students from Haus Aspel in Haldern can only hope for an exemption if someone gives them their vote.
H. D. von der Strauchburg wrote this modern legend as a short story in 2004 and was inspired by the bronze sculpture "Dialogue" by the artist Jürgen Ebert.
