From the viewing platform you have a great view of the former Carrière Barrois quarry, which has been out of service for a long time and reminds of the industrial era in Freyming-Merlebach. Nature has recovered a lot and turned the artificial crater into a bizarre canyon landscape. Today the area is used as a local recreation area. Several kilometers of hiking trails lead through which you can also ride your bike.
