In 1880, the round Dutch mill replaced the box mill that was burnt down a year earlier. In 1919, the last miller gave up. The then Kreis Geldern acquired the mill, built a residential building and established there in 1925 a youth hostel. During World War II, these were forced laborers, later - after the war - Silesian refugees. In 1956, the Underberg family acquired the mill and set it up as a hunting lodge. Meanwhile, she has a new owner. The mill can only be visited from the outside. (Source: ardoro.de/Muehlen/Windmuehlen/Stendener%20Muehle.htm)
