The Parc municipal (colloquially: Stater Park) is the city park of the city of Luxembourg. The Parc was built between 1871 and 1878 on the site of the former fortifications of the Luxembourg Fortress, which had been demolished, planned or overturned according to the plans of the French landscape architect and botanist Édouard André.Located in the upper town, the park covers almost 21 hectares and is divided into four parts between Avenue Marie-Thérèse to the south and the Eich district to the north-east.
