One of the most scenic and underrated mountain passes in cycling I would say. Slovenias highest paved mountain pass. You have a lot of nice switchbacks (24) and the special thing about this ascent is, that the switchbacks are cobbled! It's not bad cobbled like Paris-Roubaix. It's very good rideable and just different to all the paved roads. Fantastic views the whole time! It's 11.5km from Kranjska Gora with 830m vertical meters uphill. Not to steep.

The south side of Vršič Pass is the longer and steeper one. You have to cover 850m of vertical meters at a distance of 9km. 26 switchbacks make the ascent more enjoyable and of course the views along the way up the mountain! The switchbacks are normal paved, not like on the northern side of Vršič Pass. So be careful if you go down there!

This is a really beautiful ride that challenges right from the start with the ascent of the highest road pass in Slovenia. Descending to Trenta gives you a total of 50 corners or bends (26 on the south and 24 on the north side of the pass).

Beautiful mountain pass. There is a continuous but doable slope with cobbled segments. Find a bar on top. Bring an windbreaker for the descent

North entrance to Vrsic from Kransjka Gora. Tiring, numerous (only paved) hairpin bends. Ordinary average slope in the upper single-digit range. Much used.

Such an amazing climb. A lot of switchbacks and steep all the way. When coming from Bovec you have already climbed a bit to get to the bottom of the climb, but here it really starts. You have beatiful views during the climb but the views at the top are off course the best. On the top there are some old bunkers reminding you of the war history of the pass. There is some traffic on the road, as it is the connection between Kranjska Gora and the Soca valley, but I always felt quite safe cycling it.

Epic ascent that gives its best on the Kranjska Gora side. All the hairpin bends are paved and give off a charm of yesteryear.

The climb is beautiful, but the descent is even more beautiful along the beautiful blue river

The Carinthian / Italian / Slovenian round was very impressive.
