Experience nature on the Swabian Alb! This is the motto of the inn certified by the German Hiking Association. Thanks to the exposed location on the Raichberg (956 meters) real mountain feeling comes on. An overnight stay up here is certainly a great experience. In addition to the usual single, double, triple, quadruple and six-bedded rooms, family rooms with separate bedrooms are also available.
In the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant overlooking the Alb plateau you can enjoy a tasty cross-section of the variety of Swabian cuisine.

The stately house was built in 1928, a little below the highest point of the Raichberg. It got its name as an honor for the long-time 3rd chairman of the Swabian Alb Association, Eugen Nägele, who was chairman of the Albverein from 1913 to 1933 and, as editor, had stamped his stamp on it from the very beginning. The flat top of the Raichberg and the surrounding landscape are of great natural beauty. Wide, open areas with sheep pastures or juniper heath alternate with wooded areas, fields and hedges. The nearby Albtrauf impresses with huge gaps in the edge of the hanging stone. At 600 m, the entire Albtrauf tilts outwards in geological time periods. All stages of the process can be seen. The Zeller Horn is another highlight of this landscape. In front of the landscape disappearing in the distant haze, the slender mountain cone of the Hohenzollern rises only 1500 m away, which has been the newly built ancestral castle of the former Prussian ruling dynasty for about 150 years.
The hiking home is well furnished. All rooms, including the multi-bed rooms, are equipped with a shower and toilet. In addition to the unique landscape, the excellent hospitality also attracts thousands of people on beautiful weekends; but even when there is a big rush, the parking lots are overcrowded, but in the landscape people spread out in all directions. The possibilities for small and large hikes are many. The hiking home is also ideal as a base for exploring the wider area. When the weather is clear, the Alps can be seen from the nearby observation tower. So it is understandable that the European Hiking Association was founded in the Nägelehaus in 1969 at the suggestion of Georg Fahrbach.

Highly Recommended. a great, very well-kept hiking home of the Swabian Alb Association. Single and double rooms are also available (shower / toilet). Cozy dining room with good food (and very good wine spritzer). And a wonderful view in the morning. Just beautiful.
The observation tower is not far from the hotel. The late afternoon is also nice when shepherds roam the surrounding meadows with their flocks. A very romantic picture.
Stayed there for 3 nights. Gladly again.
