The beginning and the end are good, in between there are a lot of very bad road sections, a lot of traffic on SStatale. A completely different landscape: little wine and olives, large fields, a lot of wasteland

Road cycling

This segment start with a climb in a bit of forestry part but soon after opens up with a magnificent view on both sides of the typical "Calanchi" and a vast landscape. The tarmac on the scenic part it is a bit crap, nevertheless that section is flatish so it won't make your ride sketchy at all. Going through the village of Iano is quite nice too. The Agriturismo Belmonte after the scenic part is a great opportunity for a stop and refreshment at their restaurant.
