The Wildenburg castle ruins are located at approx. 630 m above sea level. NN on the Wildenburger head above the valley of the Idarbach. It was the highest castle in the Hunsrück.
Only a few remains of the wall have survived from the upper castle, which is situated on a rock. A 22-meter-high observation tower was built on the top of the rock in 1980 and completed in 1981. It offers a very good view in all directions from its 15-meter-high viewing platform, which is attached to the tower in a ring. Orientation boards on the parapet explain the goals.
The spiral staircase and the covered viewing platform are made of concrete and are very stable, so there is little risk of dizziness.

(Unfortunately, Komoot combined the observation tower, the restaurant and the game reserve into one highlight!)

Go for a walk with children and feed animals. Then discover the wolf and the day is saved.
If you have bought a portion of feed for 1.50 you can in the park the box for 1, -Euro itself refill on a garbage can with money box.

Open daily, depending on the season from 9-17: 30 clock, with special feeding appointments. You can see red deer, wild boars, a wolf pack, and even the local wildcat, which would otherwise be difficult to find. The terrain is beautifully landscaped and you can make a nice round walk past the animals.
