Colma di Vercio, at 1,300 meters above sea level, offers a breathtaking view of five lakes – Mergozzo, Maggiore, d’Orta, Varese and Monate – and the surrounding mountains, such as Mottarone and Montorfano. Among the beech forests are the remains of an old cableway, once used to transport wood down to the valley.
