Friedersdorf Castle

The Friedersdorf Palace is located in the district Friedersdorf the eastern Saxon town of Neusalza-Spremberg (district of Görlitz). Built as a manor house of the manor of Niederfriedersdorf castle is located near the Spreepark.
It was created in the neo-baroque style with decorative elements of the Rococo style between 1887 and 1889 by the royal Saxon chamberlain and Captain Hans Leo von Oppell

From August 1, 1961 it serves as a retirement and nursing home and is initially borne by the community Friedersdorf. In 1967 it passes to the United health facilities of the district Löbau.After the turn of 1992, the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund Löbau took over the building and park through a license agreement with the district of Löbau, which has been owner since 1993. Since 1997, there is a leasehold agreement between the district and the ASB OV Löbau e.V.On the second floor documents and memorabilia of the former castle owners of the Oppell family are kept.
