White Nancy is a famous landmark on Kerridge Hill which is visible for miles around. The Grade II-listed structure was built in 1815 as a summer house for the Gaskell family, who lived below the hill at Ingersley Hall. It is thought that it was built to commemorate the Battle of Waterloo. White Nancy affords fine views of the mill town of Bollington, a place famous for spinning and weaving in days gone by.
