The top of the Smokey's main road Newfound Gap Pkwy, 1560m.

To get to the highest point of the mountain (2024m) you have to take Clingmans Dome access road, 30km round trip (next time).

Quite busy area, as anywhere on the Smokey's.

Washrooms available.

Nice views of the both sides of the mountain. North Carolina on one and Tennessee on the other side.

It took me over 4h, with brakes, to get there from Cherokee NC. Manageable inclines and respectful and patient drivers made it enjoyable.

Ride to the other side is great fun. Many overlook stops to enjoy incredible Smokey's.

Big difference from the previous mountains and ridges along the Parkway is that here, rivers and creeks are everywhere. Gives mountain more lively filling. Wild trout fishing is big here.

Forest is much more lush and wild.

Haven't meet any bicycle rider along the way. I'm not sure why. I would recommend highly this ride.
