Located in the middle of the mountain on the path called 'Strada dei morti' (chapel of the dead), the chapel of the Val Grono was built around 1500 and dedicated to the Madonna del Carmelo. It was a bit like the church of S. Nicolao, as a refuge for passers-by. Every year, on the third Sunday of July, the procession went up to celebrate Mass at which the blessing of the Alps followed.
