Logan Rock takes its name from a famous 80-ton rocking stone that sits high in the rocky cairn above honey cliffs and turquoise seas. The boulder used to rock back and forth if a small amount of pressure was applied in the right place. But in 1824 a group of sailors dislodged it, sending the rock crashing to the sea below. After much outcry from the locals, the sailors were ordered to replace it at their own cost, which took nearly seven months. The bills for the work and drawings of the procedure can be seen in the Logan Rock Inn in Treen.

Amazing little route over to the rock. Opportunity for some simple climbing and amazing views over the sea. Worth the walk!
