The Emu Mountain section of Noosa National Park lies between Coolum Beach and Peregian Beach, protecting coastal heathland and open woodland around Emu Mountain. Also known as Mount Peregian, from the Aboriginal word for emu, the mountain rises to 71 metres, with sweeping views along the coastline from Noosa to Maroochydore. Walking tracks include the short but steep Emu Mountain Summit Walk, the longer Hakea Walk through the heath, and Ocean Beach Walk, which leads through coastal forest to the beach.
