Sitting on the opposite side of the Dove Hill Lookout, also known as the west viewpoint, there stands a second vantage point known as the Surry Hill Lookout or south viewpoint. Dove Hill Lookout has views over the river confluence and the city centre to the north and west, while this counter-facing lookout looks out across the south and south-east. From this point the regional airport, peaks of Red Mountain and Granite Mountain can be seen too.
