    Tips

    October 7, 2026

Point Pickersgill sits on the eastern shore of Churchill Island and is named after Samuel and Winifred Pickersgill, who lived here with their children in the years around 1860. Winifred made butter to sell and kept a kitchen garden, and the family's house may have stood near the point, though nothing of it remains today. A timber platform with bench seats makes this a good place to stop and take in the curving, rocky shoreline and the wide expanse of Western Port.
