The cloister still contains the core of the old Hirsau monastery complex and thus forms the heart of the monastery. It connects the individual parts of the monastery.Over time, it was fitted with windows and, in the 15th and 16th centuries, was vaulted in the late Gothic style. At this time, the cloister was also decorated with wall frescoes, of which only small remnants remain. It was partially stuccoed in the 17th and 18th centuries and last renovated in 2000. Despite the Rococo windows, a Gothic character prevails. From the 16th century until 1937, the cloister served as the monastery's burial site. Many of the tombstones have their own history. The epitaph of Fr. Johannes Huber is shown here as an example.Source: kloster-scheyern.de/klosterrundgang
