The Thames Valley Trail is a massive 110-kilometre trail system marked by white blazes. In the area passing Kings College it's filled with shady, dense Carolinian forests and with black walnut trees. The trail passes underneath steep till bluffs and alongside the riverbanks. The trail becomes rocky and rooty in some sections, and muddy after rain. Great blue herons, wild turkeys, chipmunks, and rare spiny softshell turtles can be seen enjoying the banks of the Thames River.
