In northeastern Germany, directly on the border with Poland, lies the town of Ueckermünde on the Uecker River. If you want to walk or cycle from the small lagoon town of Ueckermünde along the beach path to the beach of the Szczecin Lagoon, you will cross an idyllic wooden bridge. The path also leads to the lagoon town:
A marina with 400 berths and over 200 vacation apartments, the lagoon town of Ueckermünde, has been built on the Szczecin Lagoon.

The wooden bridge is a new building in the style of the old two-span drawbridge from the 19th century, the Ücker Bridge. Today, a modern bridge stands in its place.

Of the three spans, the middle one can be opened using a chain mechanism. The bridge opens daily at 12:00 noon, allowing water sports enthusiasts from the Köhnscher Kanal boat harbor or residents of nearby gardens to pass through (except in rain), according to a sign on the bridge.

The bridge stands on steel piers. The roadway structure, made of wooden beams with planking, rests on these piers.
