This historic lighthouse was moved to its current location in 1971 after nearly 100 years of service on South Head. This lighthouse is one of only two remaining timber frame lighthouses remaining in Australia, the other being located at Cleveland Point. It was originally built in 1873 or 1874, there are conflicting reports, and it was occupied by a lighthouse keeper until 1932 when it was automated. It sits in a beautiful park setting, so you can admire the historic building while visiting the park for a picnic, walk, or BBQ.
