Covering 51 hectares along Lagoon Creek in West Mackay, the Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens showcase native plant species of the Central Queensland Coast bioregion alongside exotic flora from similar climates. You can explore over six kilometres of pathways, boardwalks, and bridges that weave through themed gardens like the Tropical Shade Garden, the prehistoric-inspired Gymnosperm display, and the regional rainforest collection. The site also features a café perched above the lagoon, the Lagoons Gallery, and a shaded play area for children.
