The Round Tower: On the right side, a striking, round defensive tower from the 16th century stands out. While the base is built from rough regional limestone, the upper part is made of red brick and is topped with an elegant slate spire. The narrow slits previously served as loopholes. The Poortgebouw (Gatehouse): The large, round-arched gate entrance with its light bluestone surround and slate roof connects the two utility wings. Above the archway, the construction year 1726 is historically recorded. Style: The complex combines the defensive character of the Renaissance with the later influences of Maaslandic Baroque.
