Currumbin Creek flows in the Gold Coast hinterland in the Mount Cougal section of Springbrook National Park before winding its way roughly 24 kilometres down to the coast. Along the Cougal Cascades track, the creek tumbles over rock pools and small cascades, with several safe entry points for a swim on a hot day; just be sure to watch your footing around slippery rocks. Closer to the coast, the creek becomes a popular spot for kayaking, rowing, and fishing, a world away from the quiet rainforest setting upstream.
