The Doongalla Homestead & Picnic Ground gets its name from the local Aboriginal language, and it lives of to its meaning of "Place of Peace". The two picnic areas make for a relaxing place for lunch, or to use as a basecamp for explore the many trails that pass nearby and take you further into Dandenong Ranges National Park. While it is a beautiful natural location these days, you can still find signs of when a luxurious 32-room mansion once stood here.
