The built by the Black Forest Association (Ortsgruppe Schopfheim) "High Möhr Tower" (now a listed building) celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1994. The ascent of the 30m high tower takes place inside 54 stone and 87 wooden steps. The total construction costs in 1894 amounted to 7,825 gold marks.
After an urgent repair in 1921, the upper wooden section burned down in 1922 by a lightning strike. With the help of the surrounding communities and many private donors, the tower was repaired and could be climbed on May 11, 1924 again. In 1950, the coat of 25,000 shingles was renewed and in 1953 to stabilize the tower with ten iron bands put. The weight of the rings was 1,650 kg. In the year 1963 a new external protection painting took place for the woodwork and in 1972 the tower roof had to be completely renewed. In 1982 and 1983 the biggest renovation since the tower existed. The stability of the tower was a great challenge for the local group Schopfheim of the Black Forest Association dar. Punctually to May 1, 1983, the 100th anniversary of the local group, the work was completed and the tower was reopened. Another renovation that had become necessary took place in 2004. When reaching its viewing platform, the tower offers a unique panorama at an altitude of over 1000m. In the immediate vicinity, the views extend to the Wiesental, the Rhine Valley and Wehratal to the Hotzenwald and the Black Forest mountains. With good visibility you can see the panorama of the Vorgesen, the Swiss Jura and the Alps.
