The narrow-gauge railway (or: the duck killer), which connected Marbach with Heilbronn, was finally closed in 1968. Today, the Bottwartalradweg runs along large parts of this railway line. Some of the former train stations are still standing.
The train often ran over ducks that crossed the tracks when leaving the Bottwar, hence the name "duck killer".
