The church in Larrelt initially impresses with its amazing size for a village church. It was built as a stately late-Gothic hall building around 1475 with materials from the previous church from the 12th century and tuff from the Eiffel. This was possible because Larrelt was on the Ems at the time and had a thriving port that put Emden in the shade.
