The Fraser Canyon Corridor has been an important route through the mountains for centuries, first used by Indigenous Peoples and later becoming the main inland route during the Fraser River Gold Rush. At Alexandra Bridge, you’re standing on part of that historic transportation corridor, where the Cariboo Wagon Road crossed the Fraser River. The corridor is recognized as a National Historic Event for its role in opening routes into British Columbia’s Interior.
