Mount Ayre Lookout is reached on a short side trip from the Green Track and gives you a broad view down into the Shoalhaven River gorge. It feels more open than some of Bungonia’s other lookouts, with the river cutting through the landscape far below. The detour is well worth adding if you have the time, and the extra section is straightforward to follow from the main circuit.
