Road cycling
This small stretch of road leads to the IL 1 which has a lot of motor vehicle traffic and I would avoid this route at all costs. A lot of Semi-truck traffic, a lot of potholes. If you have to use IL Route 1, use it for crossing over to other secondary roads. The secondary roads in this area are all in much better condition than the heavily travelled route 1.
