Tuggerah Lake stays beside you for much of this route, with long views across the water and plenty of birdlife around the shallows and foreshore. It’s part of the wider Tuggerah Lakes estuary system, which also includes Budgewoi Lake and Lake Munmorah. Along the Tuggerawong side, the lake feels especially open, and there are several spots where you can stop right by the water before continuing along the pathway.
