Jack's Rake is one of the great grade one scrambles in the Lake District, a bona fide right of passage for adventurous hillwalkers. It takes the obvious slanting line of weakness up Pavey Ark's great southeast cliff, rewarding you with a thrilling and exposed but straightforward climb. It's best saved for a dry day, though confident scramblers shouldn't have too much trouble in the wet.

Jack's Rake is a famous exposed route on the side of Pavey Ark. If you have a head for heights, it is very enjoyable and there are places to stop and admire the views as you climb. Lots of climbing routes of this walking route so do not be concerned if the person in front has full climbing gear. Good weather walk only, unless experienced mountaineer.
