Hiking
Johnston Canyon is an easy hike, with (in the first section) paved paths near the tourist hotspot Banff and therefore correspondingly crowded. The asphalt stretch to the lower falls therefore gets deductions in the rating: only 3 stars. The further you go, the fewer the flip-flop tourists become and the more beautiful it gets. The recommendation is to walk at least to the upper falls (there is still an easily walkable forest gravel path). This section then also justifies the four stars.
