The asphalt bike path is indeed flooded with sand/mud and such, but in dry weather it is fine to drive. A busy connection and narrow paths, so slow down and watch out for oncoming traffic. This is also a beautiful area for walking, and there is also a restaurant for a stop. The restaurant has a large playground. It's also a well-known place to go, so it's always busy.
