Set into a cutting via a short spur, these rusted steel ruins are the remains of a grizzly screen from the old granite quarry that once worked this stretch of Wungong Gorge, a framework used to sort and grade quarried rock before processing. The rusted A-frame steel trusses lean out from an old timber cutting, half-swallowed now by jarrah and marri regrowth, with loose granite and quarry spoil scattered at the base. It’s one of the more unique relics along the walk, and is a reminder of the valley’s working history before it became parkland.
