The Tiroler Weiher is located in the middle of the city forest and still a little off the main hiking trails. Due to its location in the landscape and drinking water protection area, it literally invites you to quiet relaxation and to unwind. Naturally, the green armadillo can also be found here. And even three times. Gilded and high up, it is enthroned on the four meter high Jupiter Column on the bank of the pond. On the other hand, there are two more specimens from the Comic Art series in rifleman's garb as guards on the steps leading to the pond. All three sculptures were created by the sculptor Andreas Rohrbach based on the designs of the creator of the green belted animal, Robert Gerhardt. The name of the pond goes back to the Bavarian troops who were stationed here after the Frankfurt guard storm in 1833 and the barricade fights in 1848 and who also had their shooting range there.
