The parish church in Kirchschlag, dedicated to Saint John the Baptist, is a historical gem built in the 15th century in the late Gothic style by the Pottendorfers. Later, the house of God was expanded into a fortification, the remains of which, together with the asymmetrical, two-nave nave, still shape the village's appearance today. Together with the associated baroque Stations of the Cross on the slope, it represents a real eye-catcher and an important sight in the region.
