The castle was built in 1888 by Colonel Carl Otto Bergman, who used it as a summer residence.
Through a renovation in 1892, it received its current appearance. The house was built in the Swiss style with white-painted wooden panels, a richly decorated wooden construction style that testifies to skillful carpentry and is finished with sandstone-colored elements.
The main building is flanked by two strong, protruding gables that enclose the attic floors in between.
