Cycling
The lighthouse was built in 1818 after the Napoleonic Wars under the Habsburg Monarchy and is the oldest still operational lighthouse on the Adriatic coast. It was the world's first lighthouse with gas lighting from coal distillation. Today, the operation is automated, so only one lighthouse keeper is on site.
