Tips
The beach of Agia Varvara is located 41km east of Heraklion, between Malia and Sissi. It took its name after the eponymous church in the east.The sandy beach is located in a small bay in front of a large hotel complex. Opposite the bay there is a small island where you can swim, but there are sometimes strong currents and high waves.
The beach is well organized with umbrellas and sunbeds, and there are several tamarisks nearby. Like most beaches in the north of Crete, Agia Varvara is derogatory for winds.Source: cretanbeaches.comtranslated by
