You'll find Carmichael Park right in the heart of downtown New Glasgow. The land was donated to the town by James William Carmichael on November 24, 1890. His family shaped much of New Glasgow's early history: his father, James Carmichael, opened the town's first trading post in 1809 and later expanded into shipbuilding, launching hundreds of vessels from the riverfront. Today, the park features large, mature trees and a covered gazebo overlooking the water, making it a peaceful spot to sit and take a break.
