The Forgan Bridge spans the Pioneer River in Mackay as it makes its final approach to the ocean. There's a wide shared-use path along the side of the bridge with multiple covered viewpoints that have benches and informational plaques, making this one of the best ways to cross the river on foot or bicycle. The original Forgan Bridge was opened in 1938 while the current structure was opened in 2011.
